ALL JULY MEETINGS ARE CANCELED

Shipmates,

As you may be aware, July is a heavy travel time with many of our Members out of town or otherwise engaged.

In addition to having multiple eBoard members out of town, two of us have major family issues which have occurred this week.

My father is quite ill and this will mean that I will be traveling to Oklahoma City this week and will not be available for the eBoard or General Meetings.

The vice Commander is also dealing with family members who are under the weather and will also not be available.

After a discussion by the eBoard, the decision has been taken to cancel the July eBoard and General Meetings on July 16th.

This decision was not made lightly, but in light of the many absences it was felt that this was the best course.

While there will be no meeting, I would encourage you to spend time together in fellowship anyway. Get to know one another better and enjoy the company of your fellow submariners.

Please remember that at 1800 on July 22nd, the second “Summer Soup Down” will be held at McCloud’s in Bremerton. The first one was a lot of fun and very enjoyable and well attended. If you haven’t been to a Soup Down or you haven’t decided to go, this would be a GREAT one to get to. So mark your calendar and enjoy an evening of good food and comradeship (not the Ruskie kind).

On Saturday, July 30th, the Base will participate in the annual Whaling Days Parade. Please muster at the float near the Kitsap Mall (southern side) at 0930. The parade steps off at 10am sharply.

I apologize for this need to cancel these meetings, and I assure you that it was not the first choice. No other reasonable option was available to us.

I will see you in August at the Annual Picnic on August 20th at the Elk’s Lodge in Bremerton.
